General Information
A twine spool with a history.
In the jute spinning mills in Dundee, Scotland, these spools were once used to hold the jute twine made there. We get ours today from a firm in the neighbourhood called Nutscene, which has been manufacturing and marketing jute twine since 1922. Dundee is a centre for jute production – hence its nickname "jute city".
