Created in 1853 by the famous perfumer Stefano Frecceri for the Royal House of Savoy. An eau de cologne with a classic, fresh note for men and women. The top notes open with lime, bergamot, orange, neroli, lavender and rosemary. This is followed by the floral aromas of jasmine, rose and orange blossom in the heart note. The warm base unfolds with patchouli, sandalwood, amber and musk.

Around 100 new fragrances are launched on the market every year. Old perfumers, who know what a feat of compositional violence it is to invent a fragrance that is somehow recognizably new and full of character, shake their heads at the excesses of the marketing people and predict that all these "exciting new perfumes" will have the life expectancy of a mayfly.
