In the style of classic picture book illustrations, the calendar depicts the pre-Christmas backdrop of a small town in great detail. At 70 centimetres wide, the Advent calendar is unusually expansive and therefore looks particularly spacious once it has been put up. You can create the perfect Advent atmosphere by placing tea lights or small LEDs behind the town panorama - the light shining through the windows creates an almost romantic atmosphere.

The motif of this atmospheric reprint, in which silver mica imitates the glitter of ice and snow, first appeared in 1946 and promoted the success of the small family business Richard Sellmer: in 1953, a newspaper photo showing the three grandchildren of the then US President Dwight D. Eisenhower with this Advent calendar drew public attention to the Sellmer calendars. Even without Republican support, this display calendar creates a lively and warm atmosphere: every day, one of the 24 doors along the row of houses reveals a lovingly designed motif of the sometimes contemplative, sometimes busy pre-Christmas period. Each day of Advent begins with a small discovery, until the two-winged church door at the center of the motif opens on Christmas Eve.
