Finely knitted and cuddly soft, this wrap jacket with its growing fit gives babies the freedom of movement they need for relaxed sleep and active romping. Mamelo uses pure merino wool from certified organic animal husbandry for the fine knit. The merino wool fiber is particularly fine and soft, feels pleasant against the skin and encloses a temperature-regulating air cushion that protects against heat and cold. The wrap jacket is fastened on the inside with a woolen ribbon and on the outside with three olive wood buttons. To ensure that the middle of the body is particularly well protected and nothing pinches even when lying on the stomach, the two front sections overlap and the ribbon and buttons are attached to the sides. The long cuffs ensure a snug fit and can be rolled up and adjusted in three sizes.

First the sweater or trousers are too big for a long time, then the baby has barely worn the beautiful item and it is already too small. Many parents have similar experiences - after all, babies grow around 25 centimetres in the first twelve months. And even if the little ones take it a little easier after that, many children are around twice as big at five years old as they were at birth. Katharina Schulz and Antje Blust, the founding duo of the Berlin children's clothing label Mamelo, thought that children's clothing should do better justice to this fact. They developed a complete knitwear collection with basic pieces such as leggings, sweaters and wrap jackets that grow with the child over at least three sizes. The items are made from a fine, stretchy knit in a comfortable fit and with cuffs that can be casually folded over at first and later contain the crucial extra centimetres.

The knitwear is made from merino wool, one of the most robust natural fibers, so that the little ones can take on all the daily adventures from one growth spurt to the next. Merino wool is also temperature-regulating: it warms in the cold and cools in the heat - throughout all seasons. This makes it ideal for baby clothing all year round, as little ones are not yet able to regulate their own body temperature. And if your child starts to sweat while romping or later when running around, merino wool clothing has another plus point to offer: The fine wool fibers wick moisture away from the body to the outside, keeping the skin dry and the body climate comfortable. Wool also hardly absorbs odors, so it doesn't need to be washed as often. The fact that the fine merino wool is not itchy and hugs the body softly contributes to the high level of comfort.

Mamelo children's clothing has an oversized cut and is initially worn rolled up, then the cuffs are folded down. This means that wrap jackets, sweaters and leggings grow with the child and are loyal companions on many adventures and for small and big developmental steps. Thanks to the temperature-regulating properties of merino wool, they accompany children through all seasons, protect them from the heat and keep them comfortably warm until they are ready for the next chapter.
