That beach feeling to wrap yourself in and dry off with: the COLOURS ON THE BEACH bath, shower, and hand towels from Suite702. Thanks to their voluminous organic cotton terry cloth and short loops, the towels from the COLOURS ON THE BEACH series are grippy, absorbent, and pleasantly soft. Woven and finished in Portugal, 100% organic cotton.

This vibrant collection was created in collaboration with Karel Martens and is based on his poetic work commemorating the 500th anniversary of the northern French port city of Le Havre. To celebrate this special occasion, the renowned graphic designer and typographer proposed giving the traditionally white beach huts of Le Havre—which define the cityscape—a colorful makeover. Together with researchers from the Computer Science Laboratory for Information Processing and Systems at the University of Le Havre and members of La Faironnerie—a laboratory dedicated to the intersection of science and art—the Dutch-born artist developed an algorithmic composition based on the city’s founding decree. The resulting choreography of stripes in ten different colors and six different widths was painted onto the visible surfaces of the huts. Each individual hut received a unique paint job—from a distance, their diversity forms an evocative unity and the artwork titled COLOURS ON THE BEACH. A statement that couldn’t be a better fit for Suite702. After all, color, diversity, and a sense of community define the brand and are part of its DNA.

Just like the beach huts in Le Havre, these vibrant terry towels—and even their front and back sides—always vary in color and stripe patterns, yet when combined, they leave no doubt that they belong together.
