General Information
Spring with an extended shelf life
It is an early bloomer par excellence: even before the trees produce their leaves, the wood anemone (Anemone nemorosa) blooms in our forests and forms magnificent white carpets of flowers. Unfortunately, the splendor is already over when the leaves emerge from the trees, as wood anemones need a lot of light to grow. But decorative salvation is at hand: this flower wreath, hand-felted from pure new wool, delights all year round with anemone-like blossoms (and extended shelf life), whether solo or in an arrangement, whether on the breakfast table, in the window or at the door, where it welcomes your guests and celebrates life in bloom as it has done for ages (and if the blossoms remind you of daisies, that's absolutely fine by us).
Incidentally, wreaths are probably as old as human heads and dwellings. The ancient Germanic tribes used wreaths to ward off evil, the Greeks and Romans placed laurel wreaths on the heads of their chosen ones, and Polynesians still greet their visitors with wreaths of flowers that they place around their necks in a hospitable manner. And the door wreaths of our modern homes, with their circular shape, herald the constant return of the seasons, which are revealed in the respective wreath decorations - spring buds, summer blossoms, autumn leaves, winter berries.
Fairly combined. Gry & Sif
During her backpacking trip through Nepal, the Dane Gry Staunstrup was immediately captivated by the openness and warmth of the people - and by their craftsmanship. She was able to observe in detail how skillfully and skilfully Nepalese women felted wool into Objekten. The idea of using this skill and combining Nepalese craftsmanship with Danish design was quickly born. And the idea was immediately followed by action.
Since 2000, the company Gry & Sif has been producing a wide range of products from wool felt in Nepal. The designs supplied by Gry Staunstrup are in typical Danish design, as striking as they are discreet and at the same time carefree and cheerful; the production is carried out by Nepalese women using traditional craftsmanship. Now Fair Trade certified, Gry & Sif stands for fair wages, good working conditions and transparency. Only pure new wool from New Zealand sheep is used for the felt products - each of which is unique and handmade.
Note:
Certain manufacturing steps are carried out by hand. Slight dimensional and color deviations may therefore occur.
