A soft resting pillow
The comforter, Latin culcita, was probably the linguistic core from which our modern word pillow originated. This shows that it was not always a matter of course to have a pillow under your head, as we are used to today. However earlier generations bedded themselves, a pillow is a thing of well-being and restful sleep for everyone. While feathers were probably first used as a filling by the Celts, many other soft and cuddly materials can also be used. These include grains and herbs, which are also traditional, well-known and widespread. It is hoped that this type of filling will increase your sense of well-being through the scent and aromas given off by the pillow, or even have a relaxing effect after a stressful day, for example. To increase this even more, it is often advisable to knead and shake the pillow a little, but also to warm it up with your own body heat, for example by leaving it to warm up for a while under a woollen blanket on your stomach or chest. The cushions of the Sisters of St. James are hand-sewn from printed cotton fabrics and should be stored in an airy place when not in use. People undergoing homeopathic treatment should refrain from using the pillows.
