This simple cachepot in subtle beige comes from the ceramic manufacturer Royal Goedewaagen. The wavy, curved rim is a beautiful detail. The cachepot is made using a historic mold that has been in use at Goedewaagen for decades. It is part of the Heritage series, which also includes vases. The glaze and color are adapted to today's taste, so that the cachepot fits into any interior and can also be combined with other ceramics. The glaze is applied inside and out, making the cachepot waterproof and not requiring an additional saucer. Two other sizes in light blue and cobalt as well as matching vases can also be found in our range.

At Royal Goedewaagen, company history is not measured in years, but in centuries. Founded in Gouda in 1610, the ceramics manufacturer is one of the oldest European manufacturers. The manufactory owes its early success in part to the prudent regulation in Gouda that pipe makers were not allowed to fire their own pipes in the city, but had to leave this to the potteries. The ceramics manufacturer took the opportunity to buy a few pipe factories and also produced equipment for refining sugar. A clever move, as the business flourished with the increasing popularity of tobacco and sugar.

Under the leadership of pipe maker and trader Pieter Goedewaagen, the company grew to become the largest pipe factory in the Netherlands and ultimately in Europe - reason enough for the company to be awarded the title of Royal Purveyor to the Court, which was also reflected in its name: the ceramics factory was named Royal Goedewaagen in 1910. Thus ennobled, Goedewaagen opened up to new artistic trends such as Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the 1920s. The collaboration with renowned artists such as Lambertus (Bert) Nienhuis resulted in groundbreaking designs. From the 1930s onwards, Jaap Gidding, Willem Stuurman and Zweitse Landsheer shaped the design at Goedewaagen. Success and expansion continued: In the 1960s, Goedewaagen moved its headquarters to Nieuw-Buinen in the north. The takeover of several ceramics factories, including skilled workers and master molds, not only meant that more space was needed, but also that new impetus and major orders were received, including the production of the iconic KLM houses (1965-1995), which are now coveted collector's items.

Certain manufacturing steps are carried out by hand. Slight dimensional and color deviations may therefore occur.
