You should only think about adequate sun protection, because unlike comparable awnings made of plastic, ours made of jute fiber does not have UV protection.

In case of rain and wind, you should bring your awning in and store it dry and protected indoors during the winter months anyway. As it is untreated, the material made from this renewable raw material does require a little attention, but with a little care and attention it will last for several summer seasons. Another big advantage from our point of view: you won't find any plastic additives in the fabric. Only the suspension loops of this shade sail are made of Chinlon (polyester) for the sake of stability - so hardly any microplastic particles caused by abrasion and wear end up in your flower beds.
