The bag closes with a zipper running across the entire width. Its strap is adjustable in length. Inside it is equipped with a zipper pocket, a slip pocket and a compartment (made of cowhide) for pens and the cell phone. Particularly practical is the sewn snap hook for the safe storage of keys.

These bags, a sling bag in two different sizes and a smaller handbag, are made of incomparably smooth, almost glove-soft deerskin. Due to its fibre structure, deerskin is more tear-resistant yet softer and less weighty than cowhide. We have only the top layer – the grain leather – processed for our bags; they are made from 1.1-1.3 mm thick and generously cut pieces. The leathers’ surfaces come without further finishing so that each hide shows its natural characteristics – to the advantage of an authentic look and the soft feel typical of this leather. Inside, you find the bags lined with light-coloured, open-pored pigskin. The carrying straps are made of black cowhide, the fittings of satin-finished metal. A final polish makes the nickel-free metal zips smooth-running.

Since the 1980s, the leather manufacturer Ackermann has stood for handcrafted and resource-conserving production. Ackermann uses exclusively high-quality leathers tanned in German or European tanneries with minerals, vegetable substances or ingredients of animal origin (for example, fish oil for tanning deerskin). Beate Sedlacek and Karl-Henning Hohmann create the designs – the Bauhaus says hello – primarily based on an idea of functionality while reflecting on the characteristics of the respective leather and its surface. The resulting design is timeless, dispenses with superfluous details and features a clear cut in which every seam has its functional artisanal justification. Therefore, the leather can show all its strengths, including its visual and haptic qualities. Experienced sewists implement the designs in the best bag-making manner. Ackermann manufactures most of the articles at its headquarters in Lüneburg and has certain product lines made in a Czech partner company.

Slight colour variations are natural and prove the authenticity of the material.
