Ladies jumpsuit

The jumpsuit is a fascinating piece of clothing: originally developed as practical workwear for skydivers (hence the name), fashionable variations appeared in women's clothing as early as the 1930s. In the 1960s and 1970s, it established itself and even became a symbol for the feminist movement, as it was considered an expression of equality and independence. After the jumpsuit then became a popular disco outfit in the 1980s, it has experienced another renaissance in recent years. Lanius crafts this sleeveless jumpsuit from lyocell and linen, making it soft to the touch, with a flowing drape and ease of wear. The jumpsuit features a long zipper at the back and a zipper at the front to modify the neckline - both are seam-covered. A drawstring tie at waist level gives the jumpsuit figure. Two side pockets hold small items for everyday use.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
