Thanks to its airy stitch pattern, this summery knitted shirt is extremely light on the skin and has a beautiful three-dimensional texture and fine transparency. It is knitted from a supple bouclé yarn, an effect yarn in which the core thread is wrapped with one or more threads, creating small loops or knots. The term bouclé comes from the French and means "curled" or "looped", which describes the look and feel of the yarn very well. The yarn that Lanius uses consists of a high proportion of skin-friendly, organically grown cotton. The polyamide content, most of which comes from recycled stock, makes the knitted fabric more dimensionally stable and hard-wearing. The knitted shirt has a loose, cropped fit with raglan sleeves and ribbed cuffs on the neck, sleeves and body.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
