Ladies linen dress

This casual and uncomplicated half sleeve dress follows in its cut the Vareuse, the classic French fishing shirt. Accordingly, it is worked with sailor shirt collar and slit and wooden button at the neckline. The striking linen fabric has a "used look", and its cooling properties make it very comfortable to wear in summer. Two patch pockets take small items of daily needs.

Tellingly, “armor” is the Breton word for sea, and “lux” cannot mean anything else than the magic light at Brittany’s coast. In keeping with their brand’s name, Armor lux design many of their jumpers and shirts, dresses, trousers, hats, caps and scarves in a maritime style. The company, based in Quimper and founded by a Swiss at the end of the 1930s, combines simple, comfortable cuts, classic colours and uncompromising quality of materials and craft. The main production facility is still the company’s headquarter in France while, to a small extent, branches in Madagascar and Tunisia support the production.
