    General Information

Striking piece. Loafer with strong sole

Loafers have been around for a very long time. The first models were virtually moccasins with a firm sole, later the heel was added. In the 1940s and 1950s, the loafer became the favorite shoe of students at American East Coast universities, which earned it the name college shoe. Its popularity continues to this day - and rightly so, because loafers go with a wide variety of styles. Werner finishes this loafer in soft Wernebi nappa leather in classic black. It is fully lined on the inside with vegetable-tanned leather and equipped with a padded cover sole, which allows comfortable walking and standing even for hours. It can also be removed and replaced with your own insoles. The particularly strong outsole made of thermoplastic rubber catches the eye. It not only sets a striking visual accent, but also provides good foot cushioning and insulates against the cold of the ground.

Werner Shoes. With a Proven Fit. Comfortable to Wear.

Two aspects characterise Werner shoes: natural leathers – if in any way possible chrome-free and vegetable tanned – and a comfortable feel thanks to tried and tested fittings. The family business founded in 1911 is, after all, still in line with its traditional claim to produce beautiful and good shoes. What once began with sturdy work and hiking boots developed into a range comprising chic après-ski boots in the 1970s and 80s and progressed up to the current collection of (casual) shoes for men and women, some sporty, some rather elegant. Werner also actively follows new developments in the leather market. For instance, some shoes feature a lining made of olive leather®. In the tannery, they use olive leaves (residues that accumulate during the annual pruning of the trees), the resulting leather is very skin-friendly. For many years, Werner shoes were made at the company’s founding place in Pirmasens. Today the “quilters” and “nippers” work in south-eastern Europe. The raw materials come from Germany and the neighbouring European countries –in unvaryingly guaranteed high quality –, keeping transport distances as short as possible.

    Note:

The outsole may leave colored marks on the shoe or floor due to abrasion.
