Whether for a casual everyday look, a cozy Sunday on the sofa or a sporty break - this sweatshirt is always a good companion. The jersey, a stretchy yet shape-retaining French terry sweatshirt, is made from skin-friendly, organically grown cotton at Merz b. Schwanen. The fabric surface is peached (roughened) - i.e. velvety soft like peach skin. The sweatshirt has a casual fit with slightly dropped shoulders. Triangular inserts under the armpits give it more width and therefore a good, comfortable fit. Rib-knit cuffs finish the neck, sleeves and body. An embroidered logo rounds off the design.

The knitwear manufacturer Merz b. Schwanen had existed since 1911 in the Swabian Alps, once a traditional textile-producing region. In recent times, a Berliner, Peter Plotnicki, revived the tradition. Once more, the company is manufacturing shirts and sports trousers in the area – for the most part on original knitting machines dating from the 1920s or at least the 1960s. Their slow operational speeds are an advantage: They provide for the high density, characteristic structure, and substantial feel, as well as the excellent shape retention of the knitwear. A small but remarkable detail: Plotnicki has the clothing labels with the original Merz b. Schwanen logo and lettering crafted on an old weaver’s loom for jacquard ribbons.

French terry sweat is a robust, shape-retaining and easy-care sweat fabric that combines the properties of a lightweight single jersey with those of a heavy sweatshirt fabric. This medium-weight jersey is characterized by its loop structure on the inside. This enables optimum air circulation; moisture is quickly absorbed and quickly wicked away to the outside again, which is why French terry sweat is often referred to as summer sweat. At the same time, the fabric is slightly warming and is therefore ideal for the transitional period or slightly cooler summer days.
