Lanius makes these comfortable Marlene-style trousers from heavy jersey, an interlock jersey that is heavier, has a better grip and a finer mesh, making it more durable than normal jersey. It also retains its shape well. Heavy jersey is knitted from very different materials. In this case, it consists largely of Lyocell (TENCEL™), a regenerated fiber obtained from wood that comes from controlled sources. There is also a small amount of elastane, which gives the double-knitted fabric more elasticity. The skin-friendly fabric has a soft feel and a beautiful flowing drape. It is also particularly breathable - ideal for the warmer months of the year. The fastening-free trousers have a comfortable fit with a wide, straight leg, an elasticated waistband and a slit. Forward-facing side seams make the silhouette look slimmer. Pockets have been deliberately omitted in favor of clean lines.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
