Alpaca hair is warming and light, skin-friendly and incredibly soft. Here it comes in a particularly fine quality. Les Racines du Ciel knits the turtleneck sweater from pure bayby alpaca. This is the name given to the hair of young animals from the first shearing, but also to the hair of adult alpacas when its fiber fineness is between 20.1 and 23 microns. Even wool-sensitive people will feel completely comfortable in this sweater. It has a wide turtleneck and raglan sleeves. The hem is slit and longer at the back than at the front. Rib-knit cuffs finish the neck, sleeves and body; the rib-knit continues down the sleeves to the shoulder.

On the western tip of the Breton peninsula lies the department of Finistère. According to the Roman name, this is the end of the earth. For the Bretons, on the other hand, it is “Penn ar Bed”, the beginning of the world – a reading that does far more justice to the brand “Les Racines du Ciel” (i. e., the roots of heaven). Nathalie Goyette and Christian Tournafol founded the Quimper-based brand. The two have been producing elegant, feminine and timeless women’s fashion since 2005. Besides aiming at high-quality standards, Les Racines du Ciel’s declared entrepreneurial goal is to promote artisanal traditions and products and thus preserve jobs in impoverished rural areas. They choose their production locations correspondingly.
