This leather apron is almost too good for barbecuing. But only almost, because not only does it cut a fine figure, it also provides excellent protection - even better than fabric aprons. Whether at the barbecue or during other activities where you don't want to wear work clothes, you are well equipped. Because of the wonderfully supple leather, you will probably be inclined to handle the barbecue very carefully at first so that no stains get onto the apron. But look at it this way: with every stain, your work manifests itself on the leather and the individualization of your apron progresses. With use, the typical leather patina will develop, giving your apron its very own character over time.

Werner manufactures the leather barbecue apron from three large cuts of soft, non-slip cowhide nappa leather around one and a half millimetres thick. Vegetable-tanned, it has an almost hand-flattering feel. The front shows the natural grain with all the traces of a cow's life on the pasture. The back remains unlined, the edges open - this emphasizes the purist look and has the advantage that the leather can lie smoothly against the body. It also saves weight, because at around one kilogram, the leather apron is naturally not a lightweight.

To ensure that the leather apron is comfortable to wear despite its weight, we have chosen a classic, well thought-out carrying system. The highlight number 1: the equally supple leather straps lie on the shoulders (not on the neck) and cross at the back in a leather flap. They are infinitely adjustable and are attached to the bib and sides with brass carabiners. This is highlight number 2: an extra strap at the hip holds the barbecue apron together at the back and prevents the sides from folding open. This means the barbecue apron can be individually adjusted and allows freedom of movement without being restrictive. Fits, wobbles and has air - nothing gets in the way when handling.

Less is more here, because the trick was to avoid too many details. However, two were very important to us. Firstly, the carabiner, fittings and rings are made of brass and are therefore just as durable as the leather. Secondly: Two leather straps, one wide and one narrow, on the right-hand side (left-handers may forgive us) hold barbecue tongs and other utensils or tools. We have deliberately not included a pocket here, as it would only collect things that need to stay on the tongs.

Staining on light-colored clothing, furniture and other objects is possible. Please note that the velour side on the inside may initially fluff or stain a little.

Each of our leather aprons is unique. Natural features such as scars or small irregularities make each apron something special. Please note: Leather is a natural product. Deviations in color and structure are possible and do not constitute a defect.
