Seersucker is characterized by a crepe-like, three-dimensional surface, which is created by the weave with differently tensioned warp threads. This ensures that seersucker never lies completely flat against the skin, which ensures good air circulation and makes it the ideal fabric for summer clothing. Incidentally, the name is derived from Persian: "Shir o shekar" means "milk and sugar" and alludes to the alternating smooth and gathered stripes. When the fabric was brought to the western world by the British in the 19th century, the original name was refined to the English term seersucker. The fabric of this shirt has a distinctive irregular check pattern in addition to the characteristic woven structure. Armedangels produces the shirt with a Kent collar and, in keeping with its sporty character, without a breast pocket. Pleats under the shoulder yoke make it more comfortable to wear. The cotton used comes from certified organic farming.

Designing fashion differently (and better), conserving resources instead of exploiting them and creating designs that complement the wardrobe in the long term - that was the plan of Martin Höfeler and Anton Jurina, the founders of the Cologne-based label Armedangels. Or to quote CEO Höfeler: "I actually just wanted to prove that it is possible to build a company that is profit-oriented and at the same time promotes good causes." And what began in 2007 with a simple white T-shirt has long since become a successful fair fashion label. Armedangels combines ecological materials, transparent supply chains, durable design and fair working conditions. This fairness is regularly checked by several independent organizations. Armedangels has been awarded the Fair Trade and GOTS seals. The label is also part of the Fair Wear Foundation.
