Pillowcase linen

General Information
Linen Covers with Fine Transversal Stripes.
At first glance, seen from a distance, this linen bedding might look as if it is made from a mottled fabric. On closer inspection, you find subtle stripes transversely running over the cover. Blue lines set a fresh, colourful accent on a white background in the light (white-blue) variant. The covers in red-white or blue-white, on the other hand, feature white stripes on a coloured background. Hoffmann, the Lusatian weaving mill, only uses linen from European long-fibre flax for these covers. The spun yarn (Nm 26) is quite fine, resulting in an equally fine and light fabric with a soft, slightly granular feel.
Linen Made in Lusatia.
Upper Lusatia is today part of the German state of Saxony, except for a small part east of the Neisse River around Luban, which now belongs to the Polish Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The region is characterised by fertile soil, gently rolling hills and historic towns like Bautzen, Görlitz, Herrnhut, and Bad Muskau. The development of the linen industry in the 17th century helped the region to prosperity. The linen weaving mill Hoffmann in Neukirch in the rural district of Bautzen is one of a very few still active mills there today. With its long-standing experience and specific expertise, the firm has specialised in jacquard weaving and stitching. The current owners started the reprivatisation of the mill after the fall of the Berlin Wall. With lots of commitment, they and their team put old weaving machines into operation again to tie in with tradition – and the story of the Lusatian weaving continues.
Bed Linen. Made of Pure Linen.
Before cotton arrived in Europe, bed linen was usually made of linen, as the name suggests. There were good reasons for this. Linen is antistatic by nature and tends not to attract dust. Thanks to its smooth texture, it feels comfortable against the skin and is easy to wash. Linen is a good conductor of heat and absorbs moisture without actually giving off a damp feeling. Besides, it releases the moisture quickly afterwards, which is why it is perceived as pleasantly cooling. We recommend linen fabrics in particular for the summer.
