Aachen developed into a place of knowledge a long time ago, where technologies were developed that later became relevant for aviation. Today, the city is home to universities such as RWTH Aachen University, which offers courses in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering and related disciplines. And last but not least, Aachen is part of the European aviation cluster, which focuses on the development of future-proof aviation technologies. It is therefore not surprising that Laco has named a pilot's watch after the city.

The dial of the Laco Aachen is - as you would expect from a pilot's watch - clear and uncluttered. The three-hand watch with central second hand is of course also easy to read in the dark. This is ensured by coating the hands, numerals and hour markers with Superluminova C3 luminous material, which is characterized by outstanding night-time luminosity with high brightness and long luminous duration. The minute track is located on the outside of the blue, sunburst dial. This is quite common in classic pilot's watches, as the minutes are often crucial in aviation. Many processes, such as approach or navigation, were and are measured in minutes, which is why a clear view of the minutes helps pilots to keep a better eye on critical points in time. The hours are displayed on the inner ring. The display of hours and minutes thus also corresponds perfectly with the lengths of the hour and minute hands.

The automatic Laco S2 movement ensures that the Laco Aachen runs smoothly and precisely. It is based on the proven Miyota 82SO from Citizen - a movement from Japan that is in no way inferior to Swiss movements in terms of reliability and accuracy. The watch is currently only available with a satin-finished case and sandblasted stainless steel bracelet from Manufactum.

Since 1925, the name Laco has stood for masterful watchmaking craftsmanship from Pforzheim. As Laco watches are characterized by their robust construction and technical precision, they quickly made a name for themselves, particularly in the pilot's watch segment.
