This brass pocket fountain pen completes our line of formidable travel and pocket writing instruments from Japan. They belong to that truly rare species of utilitarian items that make you wonder why you didn't think of making something like this yourself long ago. Especially since it's not much more than a variation on the classic pencil extender. However, a variation that we take our hats off to: The fountain pen's grip piece has a small sleeve that holds the pen securely in the brass case on the back. When not in use, the grip section and nib can disappear into this same brass sleeve, making this fountain pen even shorter than most other pocket fountain pens.
The brass sleeve, which is equipped with a clip, thus fulfills two functions at once:
1. It extends the pen, which is attached to the back, and turns it into a full-fledged writing instrument.
2. It protects the nib like a cap.
Those who prefer the pocket fountain pen even more purist can simply remove the clip. To do so, unscrew the end piece with the eyelet, remove the clip and screw the end piece back on. The fountain pen is operated with standard ink cartridges.

When in use, the brass surface will develop – thanks to oxidation processes – a patina before long.
