The kits are manufactured by the company Loquai-Holzkunst. It was founded in 1934 by Rudolf Arwed Loquai in the small Erzgebirge town of Augustusburg. After the end of the war, the company founder found a new home in the Palatinate after some detours and moved the company headquarters to Pöttmes. This is where the production of wooden toys and gift boxes began. Production continues to follow the Erzgebirge tradition, and since 1955 all products have been made from natural precious woods. Together with the design agency covermade, the company has been developing unique matchbox kits of famous sights and detailed Christmas kits for several years.
