Lavender - do you already have the wide, violet-colored fields of Provence in front of your eyes? The buzzing of nectar-drunk bees and bumblebees in your ear and the spicy, aromatic scent in your nose? Lavender has been a widely used medicinal plant in folk medicine for centuries (which of course is no substitute for a visit to your trusted doctor's surgery). This small linen cushion is completely filled with flowers of French lavender - and thanks to the essential oils it contains, it naturally spreads the famous scent that is said to have a calming, stress-relieving and relaxing effect.

The linen from which the cushion is sewn is actually antique. It was still woven by hand, as the original rolls and sheets clearly show - a real rarity from the time before machine weaving of linen became established. The antique peasant linen used here, with its characteristic slightly irregular structure, comes from household clearances and is carefully sifted and sorted, washed and printed by hand. For the small scented cushions, the family business in Lower Saxony processes offcuts so that not a single square centimeter of the precious material is left unused. Finally, the flower-filled cushions are expertly sewn by hand with an almost invisible mattress stitch (also known as a "magic seam" for good reason). So you can't replace the lavender flowers - but if you knead the pillow a little every now and then, the flowers will release their essential oils again and refresh the spicy lavender fragrance, as a soothing relaxation aid next to your pillow or as a fragrance dispenser and moth protection between your laundry.
