Walking is better than standing, and dynamic sitting is better than static sitting. However, treadmills and sitting balls are not always suitable alternatives to an office chair. This led the inventor of the Standpolin from his own experience of back pain following a slipped disc to design a device that allows him to stand dynamically at his desk. The idea was simple: what has proven successful when sitting on an unstable surface such as a sitting ball should also be transferable to standing. A trampoline seemed suitable: It offers sufficient stability and enough flexibility to allow you to swing and shift your weight gently on it, which is easy on the joints. The result of his considerations: a standing trampoline.

The "swinging stand" activates the deep muscles of the legs and back in a targeted manner, while at the same time promoting balance and stability. It gently stimulates the back muscles to straighten up, and the activity of the legs promotes the muscle pump, which benefits venous return. This dynamic standing ultimately brings the whole body into action; the constantly changing posture can counteract tension and the associated pain. And many of us will know this: The best thoughts often come to us when we are walking. Although standing or running on the spot does not replace a walk through the forest, it is highly effective at getting us moving at our desk, in front of the TV, while reading or talking on the phone. We can confirm this from our own experience: Our product manager, who tested the Standpolin for a few days, hardly wanted to give it back and ended up getting her own.

The Standolin has now also found its way into rehabilitation and physiotherapy, as it can be used to train balance and stability in an extremely gentle way, even for older people or those with osteoarthritis. Thanks to the gentle movements, you can also integrate the Standpolin into your yoga practice or use it as a seat for meditation, mindfulness exercises and body awareness. Incidentally, the rhythmic swinging has a relaxing effect in itself and helps you to calm down.

As always, the same applies to dynamic standing: It's all about variety. Standing, sitting, walking, lying down - frequent changes of position are essential. So that you can transport the Standpolin anywhere, set it up and push it back and forth under your desk, it is kept light and compact - thanks to the sturdy aluminum frame with impact-resistant powder coating. Specially developed, quietly operating springs hold the polypropylene net in place. The manufacturer also had the design in mind: simple and unagitated, it blends in with any office or living style. The Standpolin is manufactured entirely at the company headquarters in the Black Forest.
