The paisley pattern originated in ancient Persia (as a boteh pattern) and came from there to India. The British brought it to Europe in the 18th century, where it also quickly became popular. In the 19th century, the Scottish town of Paisley became a center for scarves with the pattern, which is how it became associated with the town's name. The paisley pattern experienced a further high point in the 1960s in the hippie movement and in psychedelic rock. And even today, the perennial favorite is still omnipresent in fashion. This scarf from Lanius features a colorful paisley pattern dominated by shades of blue, flanked by yellow and pink elements. The fine fabric is made from pure, organically grown cotton. The edges are hemmed all around. The scarf is a collaboration between Lanius and Marie Nasemann, who acts as an ambassador for fair fashion in her role as a fashion blogger.

The work of fashion label Lanius is influenced by three factors: first, a style characterised by sophisticated designs and forms, secondly the use of certified raw materials and thirdly the guarantee that all garments have been produced under fair working conditions. Depending on the garment, one factor may get centre stage, but the other factors don’t move out of the focus – however, importance is always attached to outstanding quality both in terms of materials and finish. The label was founded in 1999 by Claudia Lanius, who works on all her ideas and designs in her Cologne studio; she has them developed by her team and then assembled by producers in several countries.
