A scarf is an essential accessory to protect you from draughts on cooler days and to add the finishing touch to your outfit. This one features a striking block stripe pattern in a shibori-like watercolor look. Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that creates a series of batik-like patterns by folding, wrapping and pressing the fabric. Moismont produces the square scarf from a lightweight fabric made from pure wool. The scarf is finished all around with a narrow fringed edge.

Martine and Jacques Bijvoet are behind the Moismont label, which is based in Picardy, France. With their fashion, the two are committed to authenticity, traditions and values. It is therefore not surprising that France and India come together in their scarves and stoles, blankets and bags: The designs come from Parisian textile designer Adrien Testard, while they are traditionally made in India. After all, the original scarf (which we understand to be worn more like a stole) once found its way from the Indian subcontinent to Europe. And this scarf culture is still very much alive in India today: Yarn dyeing, weaving and printing techniques are passed down from generation to generation there - in three carefully differentiated professions, each of which possesses and guards its own unique know-how.
