Gudrun and Heinz Fesl, the latter not only a photographer but also a whisky collector, have once again put together a magnificent panoramic calendar for 2026. Printed on matt white 250 g paper, the calendar spans a thematic arc between whisky distilleries, natural beauty and other special features of Scotland.

It begins with the Up Helly Aa fire spectacle, the largest festival in Shetland. This is followed by landscape shots of the wintry Highlands, a picturesque harbor view of Portree on the Isle of Skye and urban impressions of Edinburgh. Among the Scottish landmarks, the modern sculpture "The Kelpies" (water spirits in the shape of horses) in Falkirk meets Scottish castles - including Old Whick Castle, one of the oldest in the country - and the Rua Reidh lighthouse near the entrance to Loch Ewe in north-west Scotland.

As always, the atmospheric shots of and from whisky distilleries are a central aspect. This time, Bruichladdich and Ardbeg from the Isle of Islay as well as Aberfeldy and Fettercairn in the Highlands are on the side of the big names. They are joined by the Kingsbarns Distillery in the Lowlands, founded in 2014, and the Nc'nean Distillery from the Morvern Peninsula, which has only been operating since 2017, two (so far) lesser-known distilleries.

As always, a large panoramic image (17 × 45 cm) is accompanied by three smaller images on each monthly double page. The Fesls do not use effect filters or digital post-processing in their photography. The elaborate, two-sided offset print achieves the highest brilliance of the images without making them appear oversaturated.
