These purses are made of saddle leather (3 mm thick cowhide) and consist of two parts carefully glued together after the wet forming. The last step is the cut-out of the opening. The small but sturdy pouches fit right into your handbag or trouser pocket and protect their contents – small change, (ear)rings, keys, or pill packs – in the best possible way. They close with a snap fastener.

These small pouches owe their protective stability to the strength of the cowhide they are made from and the process they are made by: wet moulding. To make the leather pliable, it must soak in water first; then, it is manually stretched over a hot metal mandrel and dries in the mould. The final forms feature a relatively hard “shell” that withstands rather strong pressure and is shock-resistant but still flexible within limits.
