The ideal Christmas tree should be a healthy green so that we can gather around it and fervently sing "O Christmas tree" (perhaps even mumble or hum, depending on your singing talent). It should be elegantly straight and preferably a little fuller, but not too expansive, so that it fits in in many places, remains steadfast and meets our decorative creations with outstretched branches. It should be long-lasting, preferably so beautiful and pleasing every year that we wouldn't want to be without it.

Human ideals, however, are virtually ignored by nature. To stop burdening nature with our demands, to avoid having millions of trees felled from monocultures every year and still see our wishes fulfilled, we have worked with Werkhaus to develop a Christmas tree that fulfills its function in a festive and elegant way - year after year.

Consisting of ten millimeter thick, precisely cut MDF elements, the kit can be assembled in just a few minutes and fixed in place with the help of rubber rings. Once assembled, the tree has a robust yet elegant, linear stature, towering 180 centimetres high. As a convincing minimalist, it appears expansive and yet is so slender that it blends into many interiors without pushing furniture and people out of the room. With its individual tiers, the Werkhaus Christmas tree imitates the natural growth of a fir tree. They are provided with numerous cut-outs both horizontally and diagonally, into which you can hang your baubles, stars, pine cones, iced glass blackbirds, bows and, of course, the famous Christmas cucumber. The horizontal elements provide support for festive garlands and bright strings of lights and stars, and the Werkhaus Christmas tree even allows tinsel to hang down from it with ease. The construction has been intelligently thought out right down to the base: its design results in five small compartments in which you can arrange your gift packages in an appealing way for gift-giving. And when the Three Wise Men approach and the Christmas tree needs to be taken down again, it can be dismantled just as quickly and packed away flat. There is only one thing left for us to wish you: a Merry Werkhaus Christmas!

Werkhaus' intelligent design principle is amazingly simple and makes tools superfluous for assembly: The individual parts made of robust, dimensionally stable MDF (medium-density fiberboard) - a board material essentially consisting of fine wood fibers, glue and water - are cut precisely using CNC machines. The parts are joined by inserting the grooved web on both sides of one panel through a slot in the second panel and fixing it on the outside with a rubber ring. The resulting products are lightweight, surprisingly stable despite the low material thickness, highly functional and can be dismantled and assembled at any time without great effort.

Thanks to the precise cutting of the MDF boards and the clean machine processing, durable products of all kinds can be constructed - in addition to the classic Werkhaus storage furniture made of HDF boards - which would be much more time-consuming and therefore much more expensive to produce using carpentry methods. And, as if by chance, the visible plug-in connections made of web, groove and rubber rings also create a very unique design language. Werkhaus has been developing and manufacturing all of its products at its headquarters in Lower Saxony since the company was founded in 1992.
