A double knit, stout yarn made of combed pure new wool (Nm 28/2 x 2) is knitted with a cotton thread (Nm 34) to reinforce the structure and improve the moisture transport, and so that the soft cotton is in contact with the skin. The heavily strained parts of the socks are additionally strengthened with a felted merino wool thread. This felted wool sole diffuses out the moisture efficiently and insulates perfectly against the cold. The socks are hand-looped.

These socks are manufactured in the Münsterland region. As is often the case in textile production, a collection of old machines contributes to their quality. Here, they are 1950s Bentley-Komet circular knitting machines. They are capable of processing materials such as linen and distributing yarns in a differentiated manner throughout the sock’s structure: reinforced in areas subject to the greatest stress, or using two different yarns for the inner and outer sides. The result is socks with a great fit that are hard-wearing and durable.
