Herringbone from northern Italy. Made from wool of alpago sheep
The Alpago sheep graze in the northern Italian province of Belluno, characterized by the Cadore, a valley landscape framed by the Dolomites. There are only a few animals of this ancient regional breed left there. After shearing, their wool, pre-sorted by color, is spun undyed by the traditional Paoletti weaving mill, based in Follina since 1795, and made into an unusual herringbone fabric with a slightly roughened and then calendered surface.
This double-breasted coat with a lush collar and a wide bar including a buttonable bar is made up for us in Latvia according to Kastell's specifications. The coat is only lightly padded at the shoulders, which makes it easy to wear over a jacket. In addition, it is equipped with a long center back slit.
