Armchair Lamino

A good piece of work should reflect the skill of its creator right down to the very core. Since its introduction in 1956, the Lamino chair has been purchased around 250,000 times. This fact alone should serve as an indication for quality in design. Clearly, it is not only the chair’s appearance that is masterly but also the craftsmanship that created it. For the frame and the two side parts, which need to be fitted together by the customer, pieces of oak wood are specially manufactured into quality laminated veneer lumber and then shaped using steam into elegant curves, some of which are surprisingly thin for bentwood. The precisely fitted armrests extend the momentum towards the backrest – quite a rare detail – thereby offering a wider area for resting your arms. Seat and backrest are manufactured from one piece of bentwood. The version of the chair with a new wool cover relies upon an upholstered, robust linen fabric in canvas binding. What is and should be expected of a piece of furniture of this quality is fulfilled by its cover material: The fabric is made of quadruply-twisted Merino wool yarn, which makes it particularly durable and easy to clean. In fact, it had its acid test in shipping and aircraft construction, where it was also used for upholstery. In the leather version, the seat surface is also built entirely on the extraordinary strength and resistance of the cover material: a durable full-grain cowhide with an impressive thickness of 4 mm. The lines of the Lamino are optimally adapted to the human seating position. Moreover, it’s a highlight in every style of interior design and makes itself useful in the library as well as the living room.

Lamino armchairs and stools are each supplied in three parts: a seat with the chosen cover and two side panels. During assembly, the side parts must be firmly pressed together, the resulting tension ensuring the high stability of the construction. Hexagon socket screws made of solid brass as well as the corresponding tool are included into delivery.
