This Indian bast mat is made on old hand looms. For this, two natural materials are combined: Strong yarn made of organic cotton is used in the warp, and the strong fibers of banana leaves are used in the weft. The result is a robust, yet pleasantly soft mat that can be used in a variety of ways: in the bedroom and bathroom, in the kitchen, hallway and hallway, or on the balcony and terrace. Due to its light weight and because the mat can be easily rolled up, it is also ideal for traveling - in the camper, on the beach or for sunbathing on the lawn.

If you use the raffia mat on tiles, we recommend an anti-slip pad. The mat is quite durable thanks to the easy-care materials and muted colors. If necessary, it can be wiped with a damp cloth or even washed once at 30 ° C.

Behind the Danish label Care By Me are designer Camilla Gullits and her business partner Pernille Pold. Their designs bring together Danish design and the traditional craftsmanship of India and Nepal, as their goal is to offer high-quality, durable clothing and home textiles while supporting local women artisans. The virgin wool comes from the region around Kathmandu and is spun there as well. The cotton used comes from certified organic cultivation; Care By Me sources it from a GOTS- and Fair Trade-certified partner company.
