Inside terry, outside piqué
From the Waldviertel, a traditional textile region in Austria, comes this bathrobe made of cotton (from India). Framsohn makes it for us from two different types of fabric, a waffle piqué (basis weight 240 g/sqm) and a fine terry (basis weight 260 g/sqm). The textile properties of the double complement each other perfectly: the lightweight, fine terry on the inside is particularly absorbent with its many loops, thus has good moisture absorption and is pleasantly soft on the skin. The outer waffle piqué with its distinctive structure is particularly airy and allows the bathrobe to dry quickly. The bathrobe is crafted with a shawl collar, set-in sleeves and two patch pockets. The generous tie belt runs through loops sewn into the side seam.
Framsohn. Terry goods from the Waldviertel
Framsohn, the name stands for Franz Amstetter & Söhne, in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel manufactures high-quality terry goods in the fourth generation. The family business has always attached great importance to the connection with nature and local people, an attitude that today is called sustainability. This is evident in several factors. For example, Framsohn weaves its terry towelling from certified organic cotton. In addition, the entire production takes place at the company's ancestral headquarters. This reduces CO₂ emissions through short transport routes, allows continuous quality control from the thread to the finished product, and enables Framsohn to directly and immediately influence ecological parameters. To document this, Framsohn has had itself certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). This standard specifies requirements at a high level for the sustainable production of textiles from organically produced natural fibers - throughout the entire production chain: from the extraction of textile fibers, to their processing and distribution, to ethical-social criteria. Compliance with the standard is reviewed annually and the GOTS certification is reassigned.
