You can of course store apples from your own garden in it, but this beautiful rack is primarily intended for storing your weekly bulk purchases from the market. The bottom shelf is large enough to store whole heads of cabbage and lettuce, celery tubers or turnips - large vegetables that are usually difficult to store on the usual storage shelves or even in the vegetable compartment of the fridge.

We have our fruit and vegetable baskets made from local beech wood. Beech wood is very dense and strong and therefore resistant to external damage. In addition, the tannic acid contained in the wood contributes to better hygiene. Beech wood is therefore particularly suitable for direct contact with food. The storage unit is neatly finished and, in addition to the lower, deep shelf, has two shallower ones for storing fruit, onions, carrots or potatoes. The shelves are made of closely spaced slats to ensure the necessary air circulation for food storage.
