Bottle Carrier Made of Oak and Ash Wood
Carrier, storage box, stool and side table.
This small piece of furniture made of Bavarian oak and ash wood is intended for various functions, which are almost fully described as sitting and drinking. Generically, it is a carrier for eight wine or water bottles, which can serve either for transport or storage of the same. Turned upside down or sideways, it becomes a stool (on which, for example, you can take a break from carrying bottles over long distances) or a side table, depending on the position, with the option of storing a supply of wine.
Its remarkable aesthetic appeal results from the contrasts created by its construction and choice of materials: between the vivid light ash wood and the darker oak of the bottle frame as well as the round bar acting as a handle, between the grain of the ash wood and its face wood surfaces, which are visible because of the side parts that are positively joined to the base. Designed in 2015 by Christoph Böninger, the piece is manufactured by Auerberg in Bavaria and has since found its way into the Neue Sammlung in Munich.
