Clematis foot terracotta

The worst enemy of the clematis is the sun: too much radiation at the roots leads to dehydration. Here is a clever yet simple remedy from England – a ‘half pot’. Take the terracotta tile and dig about one-third of it down in front of the clematis. This will keep the sun’s rays off the roots. As the terracotta is porous, rising ground moisture will evaporate in it and so keep the plant cool. Frost resistant. Height 30 cm, width approx. 17 cm. Weight 1.2 kg.
