Contact Grill by Milantoast

In much the same way as there is no mozzarella sandwich without a tomato, there is no caffè bar without a contact grill. The electric contact grill from Milantoast has been part of the inventory of bars and cafes throughout Italy since the 1960s. This one is the original: the first-ever contact grill designed and manufactured in Italy. A classic catering device, heavy and reliable, with ceramic-coated cast iron griddle plates in a solid stainless steel housing. You can also recognize the professional device by this: Via the lower, slightly inclined griddle plate, excess frying fat goes directly into a drip tray underneath. The enclosed cleaning brush makes it easier to clean the griddle plates.

We offer two versions of the contact grill; so, the choice is yours: in one model, both griddle plates have a grooved surface. The Italian manufacturer particularly recommends this variant for preparing panini, the classic grilled sandwiches from Italy, and more delicate grilled food (fish, prawns, white meat). You may also try grilled cheese, vegetables (green asparagus, for example), or sweet dishes (banana in the skin, pineapple slices) from this device. In the second model, you find the upper griddle plate grooved, while the lower one features a smooth surface. If you want to prepare steak, burgers, or grilled eggplants and zucchinis  – besides panini, ham and cheese toasts, etc. – this is your grill. The smooth griddle plate is also best for tofu, fried eggs, and small sausages (whether with or without meat).
