Similar to the flip book, it illustrates how the human eye perceives a flowing movement instead of single images, if only they follow each other fast enough. Significant difference to the flip book: the story starts over and over again as long as the crank is turned continuously. What is to be seen in the "film" is determined by the director himself. Initial ideas for motifs that can be copied are included in the packaging - a running man, for example, or rain clouds that pass by. These templates also vividly convey that the optical illusion is made perfect by the fact that the last picture of the story follows on from the first.
The enclosed pen can be used to draw directly onto the eight yellow plastic panels, and the drawings can be wiped off with a damp cloth. In the same way, the motifs can be recorded on adhesive labels, which can be stored after the "show" and played again and again. The crank cinema is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people and can be held in the hand or placed on the edge of a table. With the simplest of means, creative young artists can thus become true directors.
