A Selvedges Jeans Made from Japan Denim.
Kaihara Mills in Japan weaves this impressive 14.75-oz denim. They produce the fabric exclusively for Tellason – and profoundly traditional: complete with selvedges. Therefore, the fabric features genuine “selvedges” that are evidence of the original weaving technique. The pants made from this denim are moderately loose-fitting; Tellason has them dyed in a very dark, almost black-blue tone.
Tellason. Highest Quality from California.
Behind Tellason, based in San Francisco, are Tony Patella and Pete Searson. Both bring a fair amount of experience to the table: Before they started their own business a few years ago, they had already spent two decades in the clothing industry as made-to-order clothing manufacturers. Since then, they have made a good name for themselves with their brand. Inspired by found pieces from the working world, they create particularly authentic garments. When making up garments, they like to use tried and tested fabrics, especially textiles full of character, for example, denim from Japan or weaves used for guild clothing from Germany.
The garment may rub off onto light-coloured materials such as other garments, furniture and upholstery fabrics.
