Desktop Bookcase Made of Sheet Steel
Placed within easy reach on the desk bookshelf.
Standing books tend to topple over, stacks of books tend to slip. Holding the books not by lateral supports, but by storing or transporting them on a shelf sloping backwards, this practice has long since proven itself in local libraries, as our book trolley also documents. Still not widely used, however, is the small piece of furniture known in the U.S. as the "desktop bookshelf," which uses the design feature of the inclined shelf for the handheld. Frequently used books, reference books, notebooks or address books find a place there. This bookshelf will serve the reader in the preferred reading place - for example, on the writing table or on the bedside table - and on a useful width of 38 cm it will hold not only the current, but also subsequent reading. Nevertheless, it is space-saving enough that it does not take up the whole desk for itself, and thanks to its handy format, it can also be quickly put to one side if necessary.
The oak desk bookcase, which we have had in our range for some time, is in no way inferior to the powder-coated sheet steel version in terms of appearance and quality - despite its lower price. The small piece of furniture from Schwerte, whose sheet metal is folded and spot-welded - without any unpleasant sharp edges - does not need any feet at all: The relatively wide, likewise powder-coated and thus slightly rough base provides a good hold on the table.
