A pot like this is an ideal home for aphid-eating earwigs. Unlike conical flower pots, there is no risk of the straw filling falling out. To make it easier for the insects to hunt aphids, the pot should be hung directly on the branches of the aphid-infested plant (usually fruit trees).

Natural disorder is missing almost everywhere in our tidy landscape. There are hardly any bushes and hedges left around the large agricultural areas, and in home gardens, flowering plants are immediately pruned and cut back, leaves and prunings removed.
