Frankfurt Cutting Block Oak Wood
On the counter for indoors or next to the grill for outdoors: this is a kitchen workstation – and space-saving with it. You can keep the cutting block with its bracket system on the counter or store it when not in use. It’s made in a carpenter’s workshop in Hesse and comprises a block made of cross-banded oak (FSC-certified) and removable brackets made of stainless steel. The block comes with four black rings. Slipped under the corners, the rings protect against slipping and shield the counter’s surface from any impact.
Nothing Compares to Proper Organisation. Frankfurt Cutting Block.
In the 1920s, the Frankfurt Kitchen caused a revolution in architecture. Today it is considered a forerunner of the modern fitted kitchen. Intended to streamline the work procedures around the stove, this model kitchen positioned ingredients, dishes, and essential utensils within arms reach. The design by architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky followed the idea of a kitchen as a workstation for one person only while taking ergonomic principles as well as practical demands into consideration. The same is true for the Frankfurt Cutting Block, named accordingly and designed based on the ideas of Schütte-Lihotzky, transposing them into an even smaller scale.
A Workbench for Your Kitchen.
A cutting board, large in format and four centimetres thick plus made of sturdy, cross-banded oak, makes up for an entire kitchen counter – a feature every chef appreciates, not only in close quarters. This cutting board measures up to any work involving the preparation or serving of food. Without hesitation, you can use the Frankfurt Cutting Block for beating meat thin or filleting fish thanks to its material thickness of four centimeters. Plus, you see waste, like onion skins, vegetable and meat scraps, or fish bones disappear into the stainless steel containers in a blink of the eye. The two creators of the Frankfurt Cutting Block have demonstrated that this system can hold up under the fast-moving, often hectic routine in a commercial kitchen. One is a cook, the other a certified designer. Jointly they have invested a total of three years in the development of their product. The bracket system made of stainless steel rods is patented: The adjustable brackets hold containers of different sizes as single components or even in a combination. We offer the containers shown in our product-use imaging separately. A seven-piece set is appropriate to keep ingredients on hold and to store kitchen knives and utensils.
