Fruit fly live trap

Fruit flies are amazing creatures, again and again they manage to conquer our kitchens and assert themselves there in the long run. Especially in summer, when fruit and berries provide them with a richly laid table, you can hardly get rid of the pests even with proven home remedies. This live trap for fruit flies offers a simple and highly effective solution. All you have to do is put one or two pieces of banana in the glass container - the older the better! -, screw the trap funnel onto it and wait. The animals, attracted by the scent of the banana, can get in but not out. Unlike fruit vinegar water and the like, the small Hymenoptera remain alive in it and can sometimes serve as a display object for curious children's eyes, until you release the fruit flies as bird food in spe into the wild.

Our fruit fly live trap not only takes into account Drosophila melanogaster. The trap container is made of recycled waste glass, so it can be used permanently. The funnel uses a bio-material that is 92% lignin, a component in plants that is responsible for lignification and thus provides stability. Lignin is produced in large quantities during paper production, but cannot be used further for this purpose. The addition of starch, cellulose, organic additives, minerals and natural waxes and fibers makes the organic material even more stable and it can even be put in the dishwasher. The packaging is made of FSC®-certified grass cardboard, a mixture of grasses and recycled paper. The fruit fly trap is produced entirely in Germany from domestic raw materials, which ensures short production and transport distances.
