They’re an indispensable part of English gardens: the “tubtrugs,” garden planters made of soft yet sturdy and very durable plastic. Finally, these popular planters are available here too—but not made from regular plastic, but from recycled plastic. This material is actually made entirely from used beverage cartons—more specifically, from the polyethylene-aluminum composite layer commonly applied to the inside of such cartons. We searched for this material for a long time and finally found it at a manufacturer in Spain (not in the Far East). The combination of low weight and high volume is unbeatable. As a result, our garden tubs offer endless possibilities for use—as collection containers for grass clippings and yard waste, for weeds, fertilizer, and potting soil… When caring for plants or repotting, they catch trimmings and soil crumbs. Even indoors, our garden tubs can be used in many ways, such as for storing toys, laundry, glass bottles, firewood… A practical detail: Since the recycled material is so flexible, the tubs can also be easily carried in one hand. Simply hold both handles together.
