Huge bread divider.
With a blade of 30 cm and a total length of nearly half a meter, this knife still makes clear what used to be understood by a decent country bread. With the serrated edge, it divides a sourdough bread with a crispy crust just as cleanly into slices as a compact, dark wholemeal bread.
The bread knife is forged, ice-hardened, hand-dressed and sharpened by hand; it is worked with forged out end knob.
A brochure on knife care is included. Do not sharpen on the sharpening steel.

With a 30 cm blade and a total length of almost a half meter, this knife leaves no doubt as to what real farmhouse bread used to mean. With a serrated blade it will cut white bread fresh from the oven or a sour dough with a crispy crust in clean slices. Or cut a compact, dark whole-grain bread, or a baguette longitudinally. The bread knife is forged, icetempered, hand honed and sharpened. The butt is also forged and you may choose between POM and plum tree wood handles. A booklet for the care of knives is included. But don’t sharpen this one with sharpening steel.

At the end of the handle, you find a second bolster. The extra weight shifts the center of gravity of the knife backwards, giving it a superior balance. These forged kitchen knives come from the Solingen factory of Franz Güde, who founded his blacksmith workshop in 1918. All Güde knives are made of stainless steel, ice-hardened (56 HRC), hand-pulled and hand-sharpened.
We offer the Güde knives in two variants: with grip plates made of plum wood and - as for professional knives mandatory for years - with grip plates made of the thermoplastic polyoxymethylene (POM). All handles are fastened with stainless steel rivets.
Clean the knives immediately after use with a damp cloth and dry directly.
