Goldsmith Kathrin Kiehl not only designs jewelry, but also hair accessories, which she has been making herself in her Leipzig workshop since 2016. Her design language is straightforward-simple, downright purist, creating timeless, elegant "bling" that is easy to use and at the same time gentle on the hair. Various metals are used, but Kiehl prefers to use brass and titanium, which she processes with meticulous craftsmanship. In this way, it always has a direct influence on the processing and quality and can ensure its high standard. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, impresses with its high strength, durability and its golden color, which comes out particularly beautifully in the hair when the material is polished to a shine. In addition to design and quality, however, sustainability also plays a central role in production. Thus, a proportion of scrap metal is always added to the brass alloy, and cardboard boxes or cloth bags made of naturally pure, undyed cotton nettle with cords made of natural hemp serve as packaging.

The two hair slides follow the principle of hair forks and sticks and are as easy to use as their design: they are simply inserted into the hair that has been tied into a knot, and the two prongs hold it in place much better than a single stick. In the case of the hair slide, the bent round end wraps around the strand of the hair knot like a hook, holds it and disappears underneath, so that there appear to be only two rods in the hairstyle. The hair fork is made of a bent round wire, forged flat at the closed end, which again increases the stability. The barrettes hold with normal and thick hair and are suitable even for straight, heavy hair.
