    General Information

The hammam mitt made of goat’s hair is suitable for normal skin. For this hammam wash mitt fine, yet tear-resistant goat’s hair is spun into a thin yarn together with cotton. It is typical for a thread partially made of cotton to carry some natural irregularities – hence the slightly grainy texture of the fabric which contributes to an effective skin scrub.

Effective exfoliation with water and kese.

The traditional Hamam wash glove, the Kese, is used on the skin moistened only with water, an addition of soap or shower gel is not necessary at all. For exfoliation, stroke the wash mitt several times over damp skin in one direction and then switch to the opposite direction - over individual areas of skin or even the entire body. Afterwards, first shower off the detached skin cells and then soap yourself with the soap of your choice. The peeling with the Kese glove is not intended for every day, but rather recommended as a thorough cleaning once a week - especially for men's skin.
You can choose between the Hamam wash glove made of a goat hair-cotton mixture for a strong exfoliation and a silk wash glove, which is especially recommended for sensitive skin.

Kese made from pure natural materials.

Our hamam washing gloves are manufactured in a Turkish family business in Bursa, just under 100 km south of Istanbul. There, they not only know how the Kese are traditionally made, but also use first-class materials. The weaving mill uses - not a matter of course for such products - only original yarns made from pure, natural raw materials whose origin can be traced precisely. The yarns each have the same thickness, so that the fabrics from them show a very even weave, they are durable and long-lasting, and they can be used with and without soap.

Exfoliate and purify as in the traditional hamam.

The Turkish bath, the hamam, has a rich tradition with a centuries-old history. Impressive evidence of this bathing culture can be found in the Arab region, such as the summer residence of the Umayyads "Quseir Amra", built in the 8th century and located 70 kilometers east of Amman, with its bathing area famous for its frescoes.
In the Turkish steam bath, visitors pass through various rooms in which the temperature is slowly raised from 30 °C to 55 °C so that the circulatory system can adjust to the heat and is not overly stressed. At the same time, each of the rooms serves its own purpose: finding peace at the beginning, the massage that loosens the body and purifies the skin, the water showers that improve blood circulation, the final resting phase that brings the cleansing ritual to an end.
One of the central elements of the massage is the rubbing of the body with a fine washing glove, the kese, either silk or goat hair, which removes dead skin cells and effectively purifies the skin thanks to the pores opened by the warm steam. Afterwards it shimmers rosy, shows a more even skin texture and feels supple and soft.
