    General Information

    Sophisticated: heating with wax residues

Low-tech heating methods are in vogue - creatively designed tea light stoves prove it. The ceramic experts at Denk in Coburg have thought one step further and developed a heating hood that - heated by the small wax burner from our range - generates radiant heat in a relevant form. Where relevant means that the heat hood supports the local heating in smaller rooms and creates additional comfort. Moreover, since the wax burner can be operated with wax residues from candle holders or from burnt-down candle stubs (made of kerosene, stearin or ceresin), sensible residual utilization is another advantage.

The secret behind the heat hood is called CeraFlam®. The material developed by Denk can absorb and store around three times more heat than steel. It is also absolutely fireproof and virtually indestructible. Which is no wonder, since it closely resembles the material used for the heat protection tiles of the American space shuttles. Since this type of ceramic is rare and difficult to process, Denk keeps the exact recipe a trade secret.

The great advantage of the heating hood over a simple open flame is that the radiant energy remains at the stand - at its highest point, the hood heats up to around 160 °C - and radiates all around into the immediate surroundings. At the same time, the heated air under the hood is deflected downward and to the sides. The heat is thus harnessed in a targeted manner. Thanks to the sophisticated stainless steel three-legged frame, the actual tabletop (such as a dining table or coffee table) only gets warm, but not hot.
